Learn about the apostolate of the CLM and the Sodalitium in Argentina
Within the framework of the VI Plenary Assembly of the Christian Life Movement (CLM), some of the countries where it is located presented a video showing the apostolate carried out by the CLM and Sodalits in each place. Here we will learn about what they will be working on in Argentina in 2024.
“Our goal is to form a community of faith, friends around Jesus and children of Mary” shares Rudolf Haid, Coordinator of CLM Argentina and a Sodalit who lives in the Community “Our Lady of Pilar” in Buenos Aires.
“We want to accompany the members of the movement, which is made up of Sodalits and young people, for the most part.” He stressed that the CLM in this country is a fairly youthful movement, and that it also includes some families who are now participating in the liturgy.
Fr. Jaime Gómez shares that “a very nice experience, together with Father Adrián Mesa, who was recently ordained, is to accompany all the members of the MEM, whether they are young people, children or adults, throughout their spiritual life.”
The CLM apostolate in Argentina
One of the pillars of the movement is the catechism of communion and confirmation, which are fundamental for the spiritual development of young people. Once young people are confirmed, they are invited to participate in activities of greater commitment, such as the Night of Charity. In this activity, members of the movement assist homeless people, offering not only material assistance but also a moment of warmth and company.
Visits to the nursing home also allow young people to spend time with older adults, providing them with a space for prayer and company, listening to them, talking and praying with them.
Another of the most significant apostolates are the missions . Carried out three times a year, these missions involve approximately 120 young people per mission, who not only bring the word of Christ to various locations, but also take care of all the logistics necessary for the mission to be effective.
At Colegio de los Robles, the CLM is involved in organizing and supporting various apostolic activities. These activities include spiritual retreats, masses, Eucharistic adoration and pilgrimages, bringing young people closer to the faith.

A parish in Buenos Aires
“It has been almost two years since Monsignor Pedro María Laxague, bishop of the diocese of Zárate-Campana, asked us to collaborate by giving us a parish, which is in front of our house. It is a very beautiful experience of collaboration, of being able to share our spirituality and our style with many people, and for those who feel called to live it to also participate in it,” shares Fr. Jaime.
What does it mean to be a member of the CLM?
For the members of the CLM in Argentina, being a member of the CLM means having an identity and a place within the Church. It means being part of a spiritual family. “It means being part of this battle of love, being part of this team in which the apostolate is the battle of everyday life.”
“It is a space to share in community, to meet people who discover that they are called to something greater.”
“CLM is my family, and God gave me this family to do apostolate, to love, to be loved, to be corrected, to go out into the world and bring everything that God gave us to others.”
