Collaborators of the N.S. de la Reconciliación College de Lima participated in a spiritual retreat

On February 6th and 7th, the teachers and administrative staff of the Nuestra Señora de la Reconciliación College had an encounter with the Lord Jesus at the Resurrection retirement home of the Passionist Fathers in Lima (Peru).

This spiritual moment is promoted by said educational institution in order to help its collaborators to illuminate their work from the faith and Sodalit charism promoted by the College.

Karla Rojas López, in charge of pastoral care, has shared with us: “the spiritual retreat was a highly desired meeting because I needed a space for reflection and prayer, especially to redirect my personal and professional purposes in the light of the Gospel”.

For her part, María del Carmen Guerra, Kindergarten tutor, shared with us: “The Lord has helped me get up at different times and in different ways, one of which has been this retreat, which has been a gift from God, because in each message and moment lived, especially in the adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, I clearly heard the answer to my prayers for the good of my home”.

This spiritual and reflection moment had the help of our Sodalit brothers and was given in three blocks. The first dealt with the encounter of Jesus with the Samaritan woman, with a conference given by F. Emilio Garreaud; in the second, José Alfredo Cabrera meditated on the Our Father prayer; and in the third, Renzo Pacini shared his reflections on the healing of the paralytic.

In addition to the conferences, the participants had interiorization work and deepened through group meetings. “The presentations and spaces for reflection allowed me to delve into the Word of God, which inevitably became close and personal, and through which I could see clearly what aspects I should improve and strengthen in my soul”, said the school’s pastoral manager.

Two catecheses were also given, one on the sacrament of reconciliation by F. Gilmer Cacho and another on the adoration of the Blessed Sacrament by Renzo Pacini. Our brothers Pablo Perazzo and Rubén Arrunátegui also collaborated in this apostolic service.

María del Carmen also shares that “with a heart full of love and gratitude to God and Our Blessed Mother, I promise to take His Word to the boys and girls of our school, through my actions and teachings”.

For her part, the pastoral manager was very grateful to the team that prepared every detail of this spiritual retreat: “I appreciate the accompaniment of Father Gilmer, who gave us the most valuable moment with the Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and the celebration of the sacraments , and to all the Sodalit brothers who guided these days of interiorization because they brought us closer to the heart of Christ and Saint Mary through Sodalit spirituality”.
