Colombia: Solidarity on the Move celebrates an emotional day of gratitude with its volunteers

On September 29th, at the Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria Pastoral Center, located in the city of Medellin, a group of 50 volunteers gathered to commemorate the “day of gratitude” in an event organized by Solidarity on the Move (SEM).

Juliana Torres, executive director of SEM – Colombia, underlined the essence of the meeting by mentioning that “the main purpose of this event was to express sincere gratitude for the invaluable service provided throughout the year”. She also highlighted the transcendental contribution of each person in solidarity work, emphasizing how his personal values enrich the mission of the organization.

At a special moment of the celebration, certificates were given to the volunteers, highlighting their values and their significant contribution to the solidarity activities that SEM carries out in the community.

Finally, Juliana highlighted that volunteers-beneficiaries met for the first time at this event. The latter have acquired leadership skills throughout their participation in various Solidarity on the Move activities, becoming volunteers after completing a training process and demonstrating a personal commitment to the cause.
