Election of the new Vicar General and members of the Superior Council
Aparecida, 01/23/19 (Sodalitium News – Brasil). The Congregation for the Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life has elected Juan Carlos Boldt as the new Vicar General for the Sodalitium Christianae Vitae, he will serve in this position for a 6 year period until the next Ordinary General Assembly. The election was carried out during the V Ordinary General Assembly of the Sodalitium taking place in Aparecida, Brasil.
Juan Carlos Bold, born in Arequipa, Peru, was born on February 2nd, 1974 and entered the Sodalitium as an aspirant on December 6th, 1997. He professed his Full Apostolic Availability on November 21st, 2009. He has a BA in Industrial Engineering from the Universidad de Lima (Peru), he studied an MBA in Proyect Management at the Fundación Getulio Vargas (Brasil) and is currently studying a Masters in Social Doctrine of the Church in the Universidad de Salamanca (Spain). Boldt has mostly served in the Sodalitium’s communities in Brasil: He has supported youth apostolate, been responsible for the administration of the Nossa Senhora da Guia Parish and was responsible for the Christian Life Movement in Rio de Janeiro. He has also served as Superior of the Sodalitium’s communities of Nossa Senhora da Guia (Rio de Janeiro) and Mãe dos Apóstolos (Sao Paulo), and as respondible for Temporalities in the Brasil Region.

Juan Carlos Tuppia is the new Instruction Assistant. Tuppia is 38 years old and was born in Lima, Peru. He studied Psychology at the Pontificia Universidad Javierana of Cali (Colombia) and Philosophy at the Pontificia Universidad Gregoriana of Roma (Italy). He has been a member of the Sodalitium since 1997 and professed his Full Apostolic Availability on December 12th, 2009. He has been a member of the Sodalitium’s Ratio Formationis team since 2017 and has also been responsible for the preparation of the V Ordinary General Assembly. He lives in Rome.
Fr. Marcello Carillo Galliani is the new Spirituality Assistant. He is 47 years old and was born in Lima, Peru. He has been a member of the Sodalitium since 1988 and professed his Full Apostolic Availability on November 20th, 1977. After concluding his studies at the Facultad de Teología Pontifica y Civil de Lima, he was ordained a priest on March 25th, 1999. He has been pastor of Divino Maestro Parish in Medellin for 6 years. Since 2004 Fr. Carrillo has been the Regional Assistant of Spirituality in Colombia and was until now chaplain of Sagrado Corazón School in Medellin, Colombia, where he currently resides since 2000.
Carlos Xavier Muñoz Gallardo is the new Apostolate Assistant. Carlos is 47 years old and was born in Guayaquil, Ecuador. He studied in the Georgia Institute of Techology (United States) and studied Magament in the George Washington University. He has a Masters in Vocational Discernment and Spiritual Accompaniment from the Universidad de Comillas of Madrid. He’s been a member of the Sodalitium since 1993 and professed his Full Apostolic Availability in 2004. For 10 years he was the President of Fundación Acción Solidaria. He resides in Guayaquil.
Daniel Arturo Calderón Oliveros is the new Communications Assistant. Daniel is 42 years old and was born in Ica, Peru. He studied Systems Engineering in the Universidad Nacional de Ingeniería of Lima. He has been a member of the Sodalitium since 1998 and professed his Full Apostolic Availability in 2009. Since 2010 he has been the Director of VE Multimedios, a project of evangelization through technology which currently offers several services to ecclesial institutions. He currently resides in lives in Lima, Peru.
José Antonio Dávila Guerrero is the new Temporalities Assistant. José Antonio is 40 years old and was born in Quito, Ecuador. He studied Business Management in the Universidad de La Sabana in Bogotá, Colombia. He has a Masters in Social Doctrine of the Church from the Universidad Pontificia de Salamanca (Spain). He has been a member of the Sodalitium since 2001 and professed his Full Apostolic Availability in 2017. He was a professor at the Vicerectory of Formation at the Universidad del Salvador in Buenos Aires (Argentina) for seven years and since 2013 he serves at the Temporalities office. He currently resides in Lima, Peru.
We ask you to pray for our new Superior Council, so that the Almighty may shower them with blessings and each of them may serve with fidelity in the important tasks they have been entrusted with. May Saint Mary, Our Mother, help them to be faithful to God’s Plan so they may always answer with generosity to our apostolic vocation.
The Superior Council is the governing body of the Sodalitium. It is presided by the Superior General (ultimate person responsible for the governing of the Sodalitium) and includes the Vicar General (who cooperates with the Superior General in the functions of service regarding authority and vitalization of the community) and the 5 Assistant Generals (who collaborate with the Superior General during his term. Each of them serve at the direction of each of the Departments and Support Offices that oversee the different aspects of the life and apostolic service of the Sodalitium).
