Felicitas holds a discussion on authentic happiness in Lima
Last Tuesday, July 16th, Felicitas organized a discussion entitled “Does true happiness exist?”, which took place at the Nuestra Our Lady of Reconciliation parish. The event brought together more than one hundred people in person and others through a live broadcast on YouTube. It included the participation of prominent panelists who addressed the importance of personal knowledge and discipline to achieve true happiness.
Pablo Perazzo, director of Felicitas and moderator of the panel, began the discussion by pointing out how the search for happiness is an intrinsic desire of every human being. Pablo highlighted the increase in anxiety and depression in today’s society, attributing it to the excessive use of social media and the search for happiness in superficial pleasures. He also stressed that happiness is not only a right, but a responsibility that everyone should strive to achieve.
The path to happiness: values, relationships and spirituality
Ana Sayán, Life and Family coach, shared an emotional testimony about the importance of living a life of integrity based on values that shape our character. She highlighted wonder as a key to opening the heart to happiness, a gift from God that demands coherence in life.
Klaus Berckholtz, director of Presencia Publishing, analyzed how modern culture promotes individualistic and self-sufficient attitudes. Klaus emphasized that self-knowledge requires meaningful relationships with others and with God, rather than mere independent self-realization.
Father Christian Yamanija, a master in spiritual theology, discussed the intimate relationship with God as essential for self-knowledge and happiness. Through the testimony of Saint Teresa of Jesus, he explained that the greatest gift of God is the knowledge of our identity, comparing it to a crystal castle where God resides at the center. He recalled the importance of Baptism, which makes us temples of the Holy Spirit.
