As part of their formation itinerary, our brothers in formation who live in Guayaquil made a trip to Colombia and visited the communities, apostolic, solidarity and educational works to learn more about the life and work of the Sodalits in that country.

In the city of Cali our brothers were part of the International Meeting ‘The person of the laity in the life and mission of the Church’. This event was developed with the aim of creating a space where participants can share reflections, points of view, converge initiatives and share experiences on the role of the laity in the evangelization of the Church.

Those in formation also had the opportunity to share with our brothers in the three communities that exist in Colombian lands. They were able to have spaces for dialogue and meeting with the Sodalits of the communities ‘Nuestra Señora de Chiquinquirá’ in Bogotá, ‘Madre de los Apóstoles’ in Cali and ‘Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria’ in Medellín.

Juan Daniel Muñoz, a Colombian in formation, tells us that “during the visit to the communities in Colombia we were able to learn more about how each one of the brothers captures in a beautiful way the Sodalite charism in their places of mission. It was very refreshing to hear first-hand the community discernment of each locality and to see how they are agents of reconciliation in the place where the Father calls them to serve».
