Fr Timothy Gallagher gives conferences to members of the Sodalitium
Lima, 06/05/18 (Sodalit News – Peru). From May 14th to May 18th, almost 80 members of the Sodaltium, counting laymen and priests from different countries, gathered in Lima to participate of a formation course led by Fr Timothy Gallaher, O.M.V.
Fr Gallagher offered a series of talks during 5 days in which he explained the rules for the discernment of spirits contained in the Spiritual Exercises of St Ignatius seeking to give Sodalits the tools to help people discover God’s will for each of them.
“The course of the discernment of spirits has been a spiritual experience for me” said Craig Kinneberg, American Sodalit that currently lives in Sao Paulo, Brasil. Craig also shared with us that the course helped him “understand the dynamics of spiritual life and also the way to hear God and discern what comes from Him and what doesn’t. I think it also was a blessing for all of those that participated, it renewed us in the most essential aspect of our lives.”
These daily activities included Mass, moments of Eucharistic Adoration, personal prayer, group dialogue and question and answer sessions with Fr Timothy Gallagher.
Fr Timothy Gallagher was ordained a priest in 1979 as member of the congregation of the Oblates of the Virgin Mary, a religious community dedicated to retreats and spiritual formation following the Spiritual Exercises of Saint Ignatius of Loyola. He obtained his Doctorate degree in 1983 from the Gregorian University of Rome. He is an author of several books about the spiritual teachings of St Ignatius. He is currently a teacher of St Ignatius for Spiritual Formation at the theological seminary of St. John Vianney in Denver, US.
