Friar Guillermo Rodríguez, O.F.M., appointed Delegate ad nutum for the Sodalitium

Lima, 05/16/2019 (Sodalitium News – Peru). Seeking to accompany and guide the Sodalitium in this stage of renewal, the Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life in the Vatican has issued the decree dated April 9th, 2019 appointing the priest Friar Guillermo Rodriguez, OFM, as Delegate ad nutum of the Sodalitium.

With this appointment, F. Guillermo Rodriguez will have the task of advising and supporting the Superior General and the General Government in the performance of their duties, as established by the norms of the Sodalitium and the universal Church. Rodriguez will also assist in the fulfillment of the directives given by the Holy See.

The Delegate may participate in all sessions of the General Government in which he may intervene with such suggestions as he deems appropriate and pertinent. If he considers it necessary, he may be accompanied by expert advisors designated by him.

Friar Guillermo Rodriguez was appointed by Pope Francis as Deputy Commissary of the Sodalitium from January 10th, 2018 until January 28th, 2019. The commissariat of the Sodalitium concluded with the conclusion of the V General Assembly held in the city of Aparecida, Brazil where the election of new authorities for the General Government took place.

Friar Guillermo Rodriguez is a Mexican Franciscan priest, specialist in canon law and collaborator of the Holy See in the care of various religious communities.
