In a family atmosphere and thanks to God, our Colombian brother Julio Muriel issued his Commitments to Full Apostolic Availability in the chapel of the Colegio Santa María in Chincha (Peru), on December 12th, the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe.  The Holy Mass was presided over by F. Marcello Carrillo, General Assistant for Spirituality of the Sodalitium.

Present at this Eucharist were our Superior General, José David Correa, Jorge Luna, Regional Superior of Peru, some members of our Superior Council, brothers from different communities in Peru, relatives and friends of Julio, and members of the Life and Christian Movement and of the school community.

It is worth mentioning that the Holy Mass was concelebrated by our brother, F. Emilio Garreaud, who gave the homily and during it he thanked God because “you are going to respond today in a more dedicated, more generous way in the ways of the Lord.  Today you commit yourself to serve the Lord under the guidance of our Mother, the Virgin Mary, in the apostolate in spirituality, the style and the discipline of the Sodalitium Christianae Vitae for all the days of your life”.

Later, Father Emilio invited Julio “today is an important moment to say yes to the Lord and give yourself to your Sodalit community, here in Chincha, to the entire Sodalit community that we are your brothers.  And above all, love this Colegio Santa María, for which you have already given a lot in your life.  Strive for the works that you usually do in a profound way of the Christian Life Movement and in love for the poor in Solidarity in Motion”.

Finally, the priest invited Julio to experience the joy of the Gospel, exhorting him that it “resound with deep echoes, that the harmony of that Gaudete be in your life of profound joy, to always look with hopeful eyes, to always look joyfully from the deep in the heart  May joy fill your heart, transform your life.  May today be a Magnificat of joy, a Magnificat of saying thank you to God”.

After the Holy Mass, the attendees had the opportunity to greet and congratulate our brother Julio for this important step in his vocation life.

“I am happy to be able to take this step of trust, of maturity on this path in which the Lord has been accompanying me in a personal way”, Julio highlights about his commitments and adds that “it seems important to him that, living my vocation and the mission that God has been showing me in the Sodalit community, I have been living the gifts that he has given me to serve others, especially in the educational part and I have been able to discover Jesus as a Good Shepherd and teacher who helps me to have Him as a reference , center of what I live, of the people I accompany.  I ask you for the wisdom to know how to give good advice, to know how to make a good decision at an important moment and to seek, through these acts, to help other people meet with God.
