Denver, 08/02/14 (Sodalit News – United States). On July 20th more than 100 members of Holy Name Parish in Denver, administered by the Sodalitium Christianae Vitae, went on a hike together in the mountains of Colorado. In this beautiful setting the group, which consisted of families with kids of different ages, celebrated Mass.
This was the third family hike made to the glacier and both the families of Holy Name Parish as well as other friends of the Sodalit spiritual family participated. These families, along with their kids, were able to take a day off to go up together into the mountains of Colorado and enjoy the beautiful scenery of St. Mary’s Glacier, which is located about 40 miles from Denver.
Upon reaching the top of the trail they celebrated Mass, presided by Fr. Daniel Cardo, SCV, pastor of Holy Name Parish. The forest air and majestic scenery helped create an environment of recollection and prayer during the celebration of the Eucharist. The various families present also enjoyed a day of fun and recreation in the outdoors and in the presence of God.
The Colorado summer, with families on vacation and ideal weather conditions in the mountains, has inspired these types of outdoor trips. It has become a very welcomed and supported activity among its participants, as they were able to more than double the total number of hikers this third time around.
