MVC Lima celebrates Easter with the family with a great event

On Saturday, April 15th, members of the Christian Life Movement (MVC) in Lima celebrated Easter at the Santa María de la Evangelización Pastoral Center, in a joyful gathering.

This celebration took place a week after an intense experience of faith lived during the Easter Triduum, which had the participation of 400 people in the Easter Vigil Mass. According to Melissa Vásquez, MVC Lima communications manager, this meeting was organized in response to the strong desire of many members of the movement to share together in a family environment.

For this event, it was decided to deepen the request that Pope Saint John Paul II made to the Christian Life Movement on December 6th, 1999 to be “Artisans of Reconciliation”. The apostolic plan was also presented, which was the result of several moments of listening and sharing with different groups of Betanias, Families of Nazareth and young people from different places. The official MVC website was launched in celebration, which you can visit here.

The Easter celebration began hand in hand with the Mother with the recitation of the Rosary, followed by the conference entitled: “Artisans of Reconciliation: Gift and task for our ecclesial mission” by our brother Gustavo Sánchez. Subsequently, the apostolic planning was explained and a plasticine workshop was held, in which the participants lived part of the experience of being artisans.

After the activities, they had a delicious sharing with anticuchos and picarones, and songs were sung with Karaoke that made many not want to leave. Our brother Alfredo Ferreyros, a member of the MVC Lima coordination team, shared that the organization was a good experience of collaborative work and apostolic creativity, and that placing the fruits of his planning in the hands of the Lord and sharing them with other members of the MVC was an experience significant.

María del Rocío Haro Echegaray, a member of Familias de Nazareth, told us that she likes to attend MVC activities because they are very enriching and “Artisans of Reconciliation” was no exception.

“I was pleasantly impressed that they approached this issue from many angles; the spiritual, in which Gustavo Sánchez explained, in a very didactic way, that he is an artisan of reconciliation, based on the words of Saint John Paul II together with beautiful biblical quotes that complemented his exposition; and also from the human and practical point of view, which allowed me, through experience, to understand the true meaning of what it is to be an artisan of reconciliation and what, as a Catholic, I must do” shared María del Rocío.

Felipe Aguado, a Marian group, stressed the importance of being together around Christ and sharing the joy of the Resurrection as a family “surrounded by families that have been linked for a long time, among young people and Sodalit brothers”. In addition, he was excited by the surprises that are coming and by going out on the “field” to do apostolate.
