“My vocation is not just a gift for me”: Alejandro Molina makes his perpetual commitments to the Sodalitium
On August 6th, the feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord, our brother Alejandro Molina Hernández made his Commitments of Full Apostolic Availability in the Sodalitium of Christian Life. The ceremony took place in the parish of Our Lady of Reconciliation in Lima and was presided over by Monsignor José Antonio Eguren SCV, Bishop Emeritus of Piura and Tumbes.
Alejandro shared with us that during the Holy Mass, surrounded by his parents, Berta and Dario, along with friends from the spiritual family and Sodalit brothers from different places, he experienced deep gratitude for experiencing God’s love in a special way. “Seeing how my vocation is not only a gift for me, but also a gift for others, fills me with joy. Seeing how the Lord loves me through different people is quite moving,” he expressed.
In addition, nearly 300 people from ‘Pamplona Alta’, a community in the Lima district of San Juan de Miraflores, where Alejandro carries out his apostolic work in solidarity with Bridges, were also present, making this day a significant celebration for him and our community.
Bishop Eguren: “Alejandro, take care of yourself from worldliness and live an intense spiritual life”
During the homily, Bishop José Antonio offered a profound and spiritual message, full of advice and warnings for the path that Alejandro is undertaking in his life of Full Apostolic Availability in the Sodalitium.
Bishop Eguren began by asking for the intercession of Our Lady of Reconciliation so that Alejandro “may live his Sodalit vocation faithfully and holy for all the days of his life.” Calling for docility, he reminded him that every day he must “go up with the Lord to the mountain” to meet Him and become another Christ.
He also urged him to avoid the frenzy of activism, reminding him that only by ascending with the Lord will he be able to make his apostolate fruitful. “Beware of activism, rather always ascend with the Lord to the mountain to allow yourself to be transformed by Him into His likeness,” said Bishop Eguren.
The bishop also warned of the danger of spiritual worldliness, warning that yielding to the criteria of the world can lead to losing sight of the presence of Jesus and deviating from the path of the consecrated vocation. “Take care of yourself, stay away from worldliness, let us, brothers of Sodalits, take care of worldliness,” he emphasized, urging everyone to lead an intense spiritual life, being sober and austere.
In conclusion, Bishop Eguren said: “With commitments like Alejandro’s, which we have witnessed today, we are filled with hope, we are renewed in the joy of our vocation and our mission. And we can be sure that there are many burning and living embers in the Sodalitium.”
“What Jesus kindled from the heart of his Mother, more than fifty years ago, is still alive and burning, and it is this fire of divine love, of the love of the Mother, that we Sodalits must carry, as we said, so that many do not die of cold. And always Maria duce (Mary guides).”
Finally, in these days of profound joy and gratitude, Alejandro has shared a message with us: “There is nothing more beautiful in this life than discovering that one is loved and sent; life has a purpose not only for me but for the entire world and from our vocation to Full Apostolic Availability we are invited to welcome the call of God that moves us to announce it and share what we have received as administrators of his grace, of his reconciliation, of his love, of his tenderness, of his joy and of his peace.”
