New General Coordinator presented at the VI CLM Assembly
Within the framework of the VI Plenary Assembly of the Christian Life Movement (CLM) that is taking place in Medellín, Colombia, the presentation of our brother Alberto Posada Sierra as the new General Coordinator of the CLM was announced with great joy, accompanied by Fr. Carlos Keen, who will also be part of the General Coordinating Council.
Around 140 delegates are taking part in this event, including representatives of services and projects, as well as delegates from the various CLM localities in various countries. José David Correa, our Superior General, is also taking part, along with Sodalits who carry out their apostolate in the Christian Life Movement.
A moment of gratitude
Today, Monday, the final report of the CLM General Council (2020-2024) was presented and the presentations of each representative of the different localities participating in this Assembly were made. During this event, deep gratitude was expressed for the ten years of generous service of our brothers Alexandre Borges as General Coordinator, as well as for Fr. Gilmer Cacho, who served as Spirituality Assistant during the last period.
After this moment of recognition and gratitude, the presentation of Alberto Posada as the new General Coordinator of the CLM for the next five years took place. “I welcome with joy and under the intercession of Saint Mary, the call to serve from the government of the CLM accompanied by an excellent Council and with openness to the direction that the Spirit wants to show us in the Assembly, for the good of all the members and the mission of the CLM in the Church” shared Alberto.
According to the Statutes of the CLM, “The General Coordinator is the general person in charge of the Movement. He is appointed by the Superior General of Sodalitium Christianae Vitae for five-year terms. He is assisted in his work by the Executive Secretary and is assisted by the General Coordination Council and the Assistant for Spirituality.”
The new CLM General Council will continue to include the participation of Sandra Díaz as Executive Secretary, Rubén Arrunátegui as Communications Officer and Claudia Chávez as Temporalities Officer.
About Alberto Posada
Alberto was born in Medellín on December 13, 1977. He entered the Sodalitium as an aspirant in December 1999 and made his commitment of full apostolic availability on December 27th, 2008. He has studied the Social Doctrine of the Church, the Second Vatican Council, spiritual discernment and spiritual theology. He also obtained a diploma in Christian Anthropology from the Universidad Católica San Pablo and is currently pursuing a virtual Diploma in Spiritual Theology at the Teresianum (Rome).
He began his work in the Christian Life Movement (CLM) in Lima, Peru, where he dedicated himself to the youth, solidarity and cultural evangelization apostolate at the Our Lady of Reconciliation Center, Camacho, from 2003 to 2012. During this period, he focused on preparing for faith services in schools. Later, he moved to Colombia in 2013, where he served as Regional Superior in Medellín (2013-2015) and in Bogotá (2016-2021), dedicating himself to the apostolate with youth and adult groups and in CLM volunteer projects.
More recently, since 2023 he has lived in the “Mother of the Apostles” community in Cali, being a member of the local CLM Council and promoting the youth apostolate, as well as the formation and spiritual life of the CLM Cali.
