On August 24th, the Sodalitium Christianae Vitae delivered the financial information requested to the Superior General by the envoys of Pope Francis, Mons. Charles J. Scicluna and Mons. Jordi Bertomeu, during his recent visit to Peru last July.

In compliance with this request, our brother José Antonio Dávila, General Assistant for Temporalities of the Sodalitium of Christian Life (General Bursar), traveled to the Vatican to personally deliver the required documentation covering economic matters of the Sodalitium and various related institutions, from the beginning to the actual situation.

José Antonio delivered this information to the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith in the Vatican, where Mons. Charles Scicluna is Assistant Secretary. “We reaffirm our total willingness to collaborate with every initiative that comes from the Holy See,” he expressed from Rome.

Furthermore, he recalled that, as mentioned in the statement published on August 3rd, “all the historical information about the Sodalitium and related institutions has already been presented to Card. Joseph W. Tobin”, who was appointed Delegate ad nutum by the Holy See for economic affairs since 2018, “with whom we constantly maintain information and consultation meetings,” he added.

During their stay in Peru, beginning on July 24th, the Scicluna-Bertomeu delegation held meetings with members of the Sodalitium, including Superior General José David Correa. During this meeting, the Superior General provided Msgr. Charles J. Scicluna and Msgr. Jordi Bertomeu with updated information on the process of care and reparation for victims of abuse in the Sodalitium and expressed his confidence that the visit will bear valuable fruits for the evangelizing mission of the Sodalitium.
