Craig Kinneberg, an American sodalit was part of the Brazilian delegation and gives thanks to God because “this experience has been very good and incredible. It is renewing to be among so many young people from all over the world celebrating and living the same Faith”. Craig added that “witnessing the conversion experiences of so many that came to the WYD for the first time is very edifying.”

The Colombian sodalit Alvaro Diaz, from the Colombian delegation, highlighted that “it was very exciting to see several of my sodalit brothers. After so many days of missing my brothers that had left for Brasil, God consoled me by giving me a moment of gathering with several friends and consecrate brothers that like me went to the WYD with much expectation and joy.”

Esteban Trujillo, an Ecuatorian national, considered the Panama WYD to be “an especial place for meeting God and encountering many Young people that wish to follow the Lord. I believe that Jesus keeps taking a chance on me and I still belong to His Church, and He has called me to be a Sodalit so I can share Him with everyone, especially the young people that God allows me to meet on my path.”

Our Chilean brother Julio Cañas, considers that there was an event which had a particular importance, “the Christian Life Movement encounter allowed me to witness and life a really strong joy, we all shared so much. I was also able to experience God’s love for me. I’m going back to Chile renewed and willing to respond to what God wants of me.”

Johan Chon, Ecuatorian sodalit, shared that this WYD “was a great blessing because I was able to serve as a young sodalit, to be close to the Pope and to the young people of the world that shared with me an experience that renewed my faith. Likewise, being together with other young sodalits on pilgrimage to the WYD and the members of the Christian Life Movement, has been an experience of great joy and hope for the Sodalitium’s future.”

Like these brothers many other sodalits were a part of the WYD Panama 2019 where they had special community experiences of joy, faith and hope.

The World Youth Day is a large religious and cultural event that every three years gathers young people from all over the world with the Pope for a week. The objective is to share with them Christ’s message and to create an open space for sharing and reflecting together about existence’s fundamental topics.
