Solidaridad en Marcha celebrates 36 years of serving those most in need in Peru
On November 3rd, the day the Peruvian Church celebrates Saint Martin de Porres, Solidaridad en Marcha – SEM (“Solidarity in Motion”) commemorated its 36th anniversary, reaffirming its commitment to the most vulnerable people in Peru. Over the years, its work has reached thousands of children, youth, and the elderly in regions such as Arequipa, Lima, and Callao, promoting development and well-being in underserved communities.
As part of this celebration, the SEM Peru family participated in Holy Mass both in Lima and Arequipa to thank God for the blessings received throughout these years of service.

Solidaridad en Marcha is its people
The directors of SEM expressed their deep gratitude to the collaborators who have been a fundamental part of this solidarity effort. “Solidaridad en Marcha Peru is its people: our beneficiaries and you, who reach out to them. Thank you for your work and efforts; because SEM Peru is the sum of real faces of people who—with a Christian spirit embodied in institutional works of mercy—provide human development and dignified living conditions to our poorest and most vulnerable brothers and sisters,” they emphasized.
In the context of this anniversary, Solidaridad en Marcha extends its heartfelt thanks to all those who have contributed to its mission over the years and remains steadfast in its commitment to being a humble witness of social reconciliation in Peru.
A tangible expression of love for those most in need
Solidaridad en Marcha focuses on key areas such as education in underprivileged sectors of Arequipa, where it operates three solidarity schools. It also provides care for abandoned elderly individuals in two homes and offers ongoing support in the Pamplona area of Lima, addressing infrastructure needs and providing spiritual assistance to the community.

As a tangible expression of love for those most in need, promoted by the Sodalitium Christianae Vitae, Solidaridad en Marcha seeks to defend human dignity and foster a spirit of solidarity in serving the poorest—an apostolic emphasis of our charism.
Beyond Peru, Solidaridad en Marcha carries out activities in Ecuador (Fundación Acción Solidaria), Costa Rica, Colombia, and Brazil (SOMAR), thus extending its mission of service to various communities across Latin America.
