Solidarity on the Move Peru celebrates its 35th anniversary

Solidarity on the Move Perú (SEM), an organization dedicated to promoting solidarity and service to those most in need, commemorated its 35th anniversary on November 3rd with acts of gratitude to God and all the people who have been working during these years generously for those who need it most.

Collaborators are the most valuable thing we have as an institution, because they are the ones who directly make SEM’s mission of bringing Christian charity to our most needy brothers and sisters a reality. Without them we could not fulfill the mission”, shares our brother Renzo Paccini.

They celebrated in Lima and Arequipa

The celebration took place in two cities, Lima and Arequipa, where managers, collaborators, community members and benefactors gathered to thank God for the three and a half decades of supportive service.

The Holy Mass in Lima was held in the Chapel of the Santa María de la Evangelización Pastoral Center and was presided over by Father Gilmer Cacho. While in Arequipa, the Eucharistic celebration took place in the Nuestra Señora de La Merced parish and was presided over by Father Marcio Paulo De Souza, with the concelebration of Father Alberto Ríos. Both masses were full of emotion and gratitude for the achievements achieved throughout these 35 years of tireless work.

Finally, SEM expressed its gratitude for the community’s support and asked for continued prayers and generosity to continue advancing its mission of service and solidarity.

Solidarity on the Move in Peru

SEM focuses on areas such as the educational field in disadvantaged sectors of Arequipa, where it operates three solidarity schools. Additionally, it provides health services through medical centers, offers care in daycare centers and nursing homes, and provides ongoing care in the needy Pamplona area of Lima, addressing infrastructure needs and providing spiritual support to the community.

Solidarity on the Move is a manifestation of love for those most in need promoted by the Sodalitium, which has among its apostolic accents the solidarity service to the poorest, seeking to defend their human dignity.

It should be noted that in addition to Peru, SEM carries out its solidarity activities in Ecuador, Costa Rica, Colombia and Brazil.
