Lima, 8/16/14, (Sodalit News – Peru). Fr. Juan Carlos Rivva, SCV., Pastor of the “Our Lady of Reconciliation” Parish in Lima, invited all parishioners and friends to come together to joyfully celebrate the 25 years of the pilgrimage of the Our Lady of Reconciliation Parish together with Holy Holy Mary and under the guidance of the Lord Jesus.
2014 has already been a very special year for the Our Lady of Reconciliation Parish, because this year the Lord has blessed it with the gift of celebrating the 25th anniversary of the parish community, which over the years has grown to become a beautiful family.
And it is with great joy that the parish invites members of the Sodalit Family to participate in the many special activities that have been prepared and are taking place on the occasion of the XXV anniversary. The activities include the visit by Cardinal Juan Luis Cipriani, Archbishop of Lima and Primate of Peru, for the celebration of a Solemn Mass for the parish’s anniversary on August 17th. There will also be a carnival to celebrate the silver jubilee.
The celebrations began on August 12th with a Mass presided over by Fr. Juan Jose Paniagua, Parish Vicar, which also marked the beginning of the procession of the statue of Our Lady of Reconciliation in surrounding neighborhoods. This will continue until Saturday the 16th and, as usual, will travel different areas within the parish boundaries.
Activities for the Silver Jubilee of the Parish of Our Lady of Reconciliation will continue each day until Sunday August 24th, and included the Mass for the 16th anniversary of the founding of the Servants of God’s Plan which was presided over by Msgr. Raúl Chau Quispe, Auxiliary Bishop of Lima, on August 15th.
On August 24th, the parish carnival will take place, where the entire parish family may, in a nice atmosphere of celebration and sharing, celebrate together. Then, there will be a Mass presided over by Msgr. José Antonio Eguren Anselmi, SCV., Archbishop of Piura and Tumbes to conclude the activities, and in which a plaque will be unveiled for the 25th anniversary of the parish.
