With deep gratitude to God, our community celebrated its fiftieth anniversary of foundation and pilgrimage with Eucharistic celebrations in the various parts of the world where we are present.

In Lima, Peru, we celebrated, together with numerous members of the spiritual family, with a Holy Mass in the Parish of Our Lady of Reconciliation presided over by our brother Fr. Gilmer Cacho. Present at this Holy Mass were José David Correa, our Superior General, and Jorge Luna, Regional Superior of Peru.

In his homily, Fr. Gilmer stressed that God “is the source of grace, with which Mary was filled from the first moment of her existence, who welcomed Jesus with faith, and with love donated him to the world. This is also our vocation and mission as Sodalites, as a spiritual family. To welcome the Lord and donate him to the world so that the world may be saved by him ”.

In Ecuador, we began the celebration of our 50 years with a Eucharist presided over by Bishop Iván Minda, Auxiliary Bishop of Guayaquil. In it, he reminded the members of the Sodalitium of the importance of living reconciliation.

In Rome, Italy, Card. Francesco Monterisi, Archpriest Emeritus of the Basilica of Saint Paul Outside the Walls, stressed that we aspire “to exercise the Christian life itself in the concrete activities of each day, since the Christian life means following Christ, having Christ as a companion of life, thinking of Jesus, and loving Jesus in every moment in which one commits oneself to a work, when one performs an act that may cost sacrifice. Sodalitium means having brotherhood, friendship ”.

Bishop Javier del Río Alba, Metropolitan Archbishop of Arequipa, celebrated the anniversary Eucharist in that city, where the various local members of the spiritual family accompanied us. In his homily, Bishop Del Río highlighted that “God has founded the Sodalitium to transmit the faith, to make his love present to all nations through a specific charism, through a special charism of evangelization ”.

We also celebrated in Pilar, Argentina, where Mons. Justo Rodríguez Gallego, Auxiliary Bishop of the Zárate-Campana diocese, who presided over the anniversary Mass, visited us. In his homily, Bishop Rodríguez highlighted that the Virgin Mary “has conceived a child, life has sprouted in her, because for God there is nothing impossible. God also wants to make life spring up in each one of us and in the world in which we live. So today is a day to renew, this is the grace of Jesus Christ ”.

At Holy Name Parish in Denver, Colorado, Bishop Jorge Humberto Rodríguez-Novelo, Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Denver, presided at the Eucharist for our anniversary. In Colombia, Holy Mass was presided over by Bishop Pedro Salamanca Mantilla, Auxiliary Bishop of Bogotá, and Bishop Luis Fernando Rodríguez, Auxiliary Bishop of Cali.
