The profession was held during the celebration of Holy Mass presided by Monsignor Cristian Roncagliolo, Auxiliary Bishop of Santiago de Chile, at Madre de los Apostoles Parish. Several members of Carlos’ family, his friends, Sodalit brothers and members of the Christian Life Movement and the spiritual family in Santiago were present.

During his homily, Monsignor Roncagliolo highlited that Carlos professed something “that is commiting your whole life, it’s a commitment to God forever in the Sodalit community.”

Further on, the auxiliary bishop highlighted the experience of the apostles in the passage of Our Lord’s Transfiguration pointing out “the mystical experience of finding the Lord is an experience of contemplation and profound apostolate; that is, deeply rooted in Christ but evoking in me a desire for the mission, for being a witness, for being Christ’s apostle.”

Monsignor Roncagliolo invited Carlos to let his commitment of “words of a brave, fearful and missionary love express verbally what is in your heart and before this community that loves you so much so that you may say: ‘now, here, with my frailty and my strength I want to tell the Lord that I am committed forever, that this commitment marks my life, prepares my heart and gives me grace to be a witness of God’s love.”

Carlos Zamalloa is very thankful with his Sodalit brothers, friends and family members whose prayers, testimony and encouragement “helped me in my preparation and gave me plenty of serenity with which I could see God’s beautiful details in the readings, prayers and words of the Auxiliary Bishop that encouraged me to follow this commitment.”

After the Eucarist all the attendees had a moment to greet and congratulate the newly perpetual professed brother for this new milestone in his Christian life and vocation in the Sodalitium.

Carlos Zamalloa lives in Chile since 2010 where he has worked in youth apostolate and pastoral tasks related to the Madre de los Apóstoles Parish. Carlos has studied Philosophy and Theology in the Universidad Católica de Chile where he was a student of Monsignor Cristian Roncagliolo who presided his perpetual profession.
