CLM Releases Pilgrim’s Guide for WYD

Lima 7/17/13 (Sodalit News – Peru). With just a few days remaining before the start of World Youth Day (WYD), the Christian Life Movement (CLM) has launched an electronic version of the Pilgrim’s Guide which contains important information about what each pilgrim needs to know and also gives a few practical tips.

The Guide is divided in three parts:

An introduction, containing an excerpt of Pope Francis’ 2013 Palm Sunday homily in which he reminds all Christians that “we must live the faith with a young heart, always a young heart. With Christ, the heart never grows old!” Fransisco Cañola, the General Coordinator of the CLM, invites the members of the CLM to let this WYD “be an experience of a true encounter with the ‘Lord of the youth’, in communion with the whole Church, together with the Holy Father, Pope Francis, as well as an intense apostolic experience.

The second part is made up of useful practical advice that every pilgrim should know during this WYD. This advice includes how to appropriately handle personal documentation and what each member of the CLM should carry. There are also important emergency telephone numbers and steps to take in the case of an emergency. This part explains where Internet will be accessible for the pilgrims as well. Finally, there is advice with regards to safety within the city, money, exchange rates, nutrition, lodging and public transport. All of this information can be found in detail with maps and clear indications.

The third part outlines the program of WYD activities, the CLM’s participation and how each CLM member will participate in each activity. This includes information about main WYD events such as the Opening Mass, the arrival of the Pope, the Stations of the Cross, the Vigil, and the Closing Mass. In this part there is also information about the catechesis that will be given by Bishops from various countries and in different languages, about the famous Festival of Youth, the Vocational Fair, and the confessionals. All of these activities are explained in detail with the schedule and transportation indications for each place where they will be held.

The Pilgrim’s Guide will be given to each member of the CLM in the time before WYD, but it can already be downloaded in PDF format from one of the following links:

At this World Youth Day the CLM, as at previous WYDs, will be present with a large number of youths, mostly from Latin-American countries.
