“I’m thankful for God’s goodness in giving me this vocation.”

Aparecida, 11/06/13 (Sodalit News – Brasil).  On November 2nd, the date upon which Brazil celebrated the Vespers of the Solemnity of All Saints, the members of the Sodalit Family in Aparecida gathered together to participate in the Eucharistic celebration in which Mauricio Fontes Sinelli emitted his promises of Perpetual Full Apostolic Availability in the Sodalitium Christianae Vitae.

Sinelli emitted his promises during the Eucharist presided by the Cardinal Raimundo Damasceno Assis, Archbishop of Aparecida.  Concelebrating with him were several sodalit priests and other local priests.  The Holy Mass was celebrated in the Chapel  of Our Lady of Hope in Aparecida.

Monsignor Damasceno, during the homily, recalled the arrival of the Sodalitium to the city of Aparecida en the year 2010, where Luis Fernando Figari, the founder, “asked me to be able to found a sodalit community in that city because he saw a special disposition of divine providence and Our Lady’s desire that the community would be present.  With much pleasure I opened the doors for the members of the Sodalitium so that they could accomplish here their labour for the Gospel.”

The celebration also included the presence of the Vicar General of the Sodalitium, Fernando Vidal, and the Regional Superior of Brazil, Alexandre Borges de Magalhaes, family members of Mauricio, along with other sodalit brothers from the Brazilian Region.  Also accompanying the ceremony were numerous members of the Christian Life Movement from Rio de Janeiro, Petropolis, and Sao Paulo, who, together with many people from Aparecida, made their presence felt as they filled the chapel.

At the end of the Eucharist, Sinelli greeted all those present saying that he found himself “very thankful for the goodness of God in granting me this vocation.”  In the same way he mentioned that “love is real and it is possible to live it;” the reason for which he was emitting his promises.

Mauricio Fontes Sinelli, native of Sao Paulo, performs his apostolic work in Aparecida through the evangelization of families and also through a variety sodalit projects in the Brazilian region.
