Solidarity with Those in Need

The Sodalitium has worked extensively with the poor and needy. Since our beginnings, a preferential love for the poor has marked our identity as a community. The Sodalitium has undertaken many different works of solidarity and charity towards the weak, the poor, the suffering, the sick and the marginalized, aware that personal conversion must be accompanied by the implementation of the social consequences of following the Lord Jesus.

Poverty, however, is not only material but also spiritual. In that sense, apostolic commitment to the needy requires us never to forget the close relationship between evangelization and human progress. Our solidarity work strives to assist our neighbor, helping him move from less human conditions to more human conditions that are more worthy of his identity as a human person and a child of God.

This area of the Sodalitium’s ministry is guided by the Church’s social teaching, recognizing in the living Magisterium a sure way of dealing with the problems of our times.
