Conclusion of the visit of the Holy Father’s envoys to Peru

In relation to the recent visit of Pope Francis’ envoys to Peru we would like to inform you of the following:

1. The Sodalitium thanks the Holy Father for his paternal concern towards the Church and towards our community. We express particular gratitude to Bishop Charles J. Scicluna and Bishop Jordi Bertomeu for their presence and work during their visit to Peru. We offer our prayers for your intentions and pastoral work.

2. The members of the Sodalitium who were summoned to meetings with the Holy Father’s envoys have attended and collaborated diligently. In addition, we have provided updated information about the process of care and reparation for victims of abuse at the Sodalitium.

3. Likewise, we have been requested additional information on some economic matters, which we are committed to providing clearly and completely within the deadline established by the Holy Father’s envoys.

4. In this context, we want to inform that our brother José Antonio Dávila , General Assistant for Temporalities of the Sodalitium (general treasurer), will deliver the requested information, in coordination with the institutions related to the mission of the Sodalitium throughout the world. We will include international audits that these institutions have been undergoing for several years, as well as reports that clearly support some topics of interest to the envoys. This information has already been presented to Cardinal Joseph W. Tobin, our Delegate designated by the Holy See for economic affairs.

5. Finally, we reiterate our complete willingness to continue collaborating with the Holy See, in a spirit of humility and openness, as we have done over the years, continuing our commitment to justice, truth and renewal.

We confidently place the fruits of this visit in the hands of the Lord, for the good of the Church and our Sodalit community, so that we can fulfill the evangelizing mission that has been entrusted to us. May Holy Mary, our Mother, intercede for us.
