THANKSGIVING FROM THE VI ASSEMBLY OF THE SCV TO THE SPIRITUAL FAMILY
Dear members of our spiritual family,
1. We, the sodalits gathered at the VI General Assembly, at the feet of Nossa Senhora da Conceição Aparecida, wish to express our gratitude for your numerous and constant prayers for the Sodalitium and its members. They have been expressions of unity in the Lord Jesus and Holy Mary and of fraternal affection around a shared history of salvation. We have felt overwhelmed by your appreciation and concern.
2. For our part, we have kept you in our prayers and reflections, especially in the place where communion has been most real and profound, and where we have found nourishment and strength for each day: the Holy Eucharist.
3. We accept the suppression of the Sodalitium with sorrow but also with docility, trusting in God’s Providence, which comes through obedience to the Successor of Peter. We embrace the words of the Apostle: “We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him.” (Rom 8:28)
4. With sincere hearts, we ask forgiveness from all the victims and those affected by the various abuses that have occurred in our history, for the wounds inflicted, and for the scandal this has caused you and the Church.
5. Above all, we want to give thanks for the journey we have traveled over these 53 years of existence, during which, hand in hand with Our Mother, we have sought to proclaim the Gospel of Reconciliation, drawing more people to the heart of her Son, Jesus.
6. We sincerely appreciate your witness of apostolic fervor and creativity, commitment, and generosity, but above all, your friendship in the Lord Jesus, which has edified us and served as a source of encouragement in our journey.
7. We wish to thank all those who take part in the various apostolic initiatives and who, by contributing their gifts and talents, have found in our spiritual family a place to live out their faith.
8. Let us also give thanks together to God for all the apostolic works of our spiritual family, which have also arisen as a gift for the evangelization of youth, the most needy brothers and sisters, and culture for the good of the Church.
9. We express our special gratitude to the couples of adherents, apostolically consecrated to Holy Mary, who have maintained a close collaboration with the apostolate and the common mission, assuming responsibilities with great generosity, dedication, and sacrifice.
10. We wish to conclude by inviting you, in these moments, to turn our gaze to Our Lady of Reconciliation and, in particular, to her heart, which, despite being pierced by the sword of sorrow, never ceases to burn with love for God and for mankind. With her purity, she renews us to be apostles of her Son, the Lord Jesus, and to always trust in the Church, our Mother.
